Title I School-Parent Compact
Roosevelt Elementary School

Our school believes that students are more successful at reaching their full academic potential when families and school staff work together as partners. Roosevelt Elementary School and the parents of the students participating in activities, services, and programs funded by Title I agree that this compact outlines how they will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the State’s high standards.

School/Teacher Responsibilities:

We, as Roosevelt Elementary school and partners in each child’s education, will support our student’s learning in the following ways:

  1. Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State’s student academic achievement standards as follows:
    • We will communicate the school’s vision, mission, and goals.
    • We will maintain and foster high standards of academic achievement and behavior.
    • We will conduct at least one parent meeting to discuss the Title I Program including this School-Parent Compact.
  2. Hold parent-teacher conferences (at least annually in elementary schools) during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement. These conferences will be held in October and February.
  3. Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress. Specifically, the school will provide reports as follows:
    • All parents will have online access to PowerSchool to view progress on standards and attendance.
    • We will communicate district standards and benchmarks to parents through our district communications.
    • We will share progress reports during conference held in October and February.
    • We will provide trimester progress reports to all parents.
  4. Provide parents reasonable access to staff. Specifically, staff will be available for consultation with parents as follows:
    • We will provide a supportive environment in which families are welcome partners.
    • We will encourage parents to schedule an appointment to meet with teachers about suggestions, questions, and/or concerns.
    • Ensure regular two-way, meaningful communication between family members and staff, in a language that family members can understand.
  5. Provide parents opportunities to volunteer and participate at school events, as follows:
    • We will encourage parents to volunteer for classroom and school-wide events.
    • We will encourage parents to attend reading and math events.
    • We will invite parents to special assemblies, classroom performances, and school programs.

We will conduct at least one parent meeting to discuss the Title I Program including this School-Parent Compact.
